Joseph Vick from our education department recently got the chance to talk to Tinesha Ross, ULA Senior Manager of System Safety and Quality for Major Development, about ULA’s role in this successful mission.

A Fairfield native played a significant role in getting NASA’s 2020 Perseverance rover last Thursday. Although Tinesha Ross’ engineering career seems to be going well, she has gone through a lot in life that has helped her succeed.

On Monday, August 16, 2021, at 12:30 p.m., members of Alabama A&M University’s Class of 2025 virtually join an age-old tradition of passing the torch. They also receive words of inspiration from President Andrew Hugine, Jr.; Dr. Kyla Pitcher, Interim Vice president for student affairs; Dr. Brittany Holloman, Interim Associate Vice President for Student Affairs; and, guest speaker Tinesha Ross, Senior Manager of General Procurement for Launch Operations and Production operations at United Launch Alliance (ULA). Ms. Ross is a member of the class of 1999 and a native of Fairfield, Alabama.

She was told she needed to set ‘realistic’ goals. Now Tinesha Ross is a rocket scientist.
